A return request has two different outcomes to settle: what happens to the item, and what happens to the money already paid. The item might still be held while a request is discussed. A refund might appear in an account balance without having reached the original payment method. Neither situation should be mistaken for the whole matter being finished.
Begin by naming the outcome you want for the specific Item ID: cancel an uncompleted purchase, return an eligible item, discuss an exchange, or report a problem with goods already delivered. Then establish the order's actual stage before assuming which route is available.
Ask for the action that matches the current stage
The English return guidance distinguishes stages rather than offering one action for every order. Its examples include contacting customer service to cancel at the paid stage, dealing with a purchase already placed but not yet dispatched to the warehouse, and discussing acceptance and freight once that domestic shipment has been sent. These examples do not describe a parcel already delivered internationally.
These are not interchangeable statuses. A request sent while the order is paid may be handled after the order has progressed. Give the current status and ask what can still be stopped, instead of assuming that the wording of your first message freezes the transaction.
A useful private request states the order reference, Item ID, option ordered, present status, reason and preferred outcome. If an exchange would also be acceptable, say so separately. Do not describe a replacement as already arranged until its option, any new payment and the disposition of the original item are clear.
Preserve the condition needed for the requested outcome
Eligibility can depend on the applicable purchase terms and whether the goods remain in a condition suitable for resale. The guidance places limits around categories such as customized goods and underwear, and around removal of packaging, tags or accessories.
Before asking for packaging to be discarded, decide whether you still need the option of returning the item. Before accepting an appearance issue, distinguish “I can live with this” from “I have not yet found a way to assess it.” The QC photo guide can help with a visible question, but photographs do not resolve every functional or internal problem.
For a set, ask whether the requested action applies to the complete Item ID or whether a partial return is actually accepted. An unwanted component does not automatically have a separately refundable price.
Get the charge breakdown before choosing between keeping and returning
The English help material is not consistent enough to support one universal return fee. Different passages describe freight responsibility and service charges differently. Do not assume that an original shipping offer removes return freight, or that an older fee example is the amount applicable to your request.
For a warehouse return, ask for the applicable original domestic freight to the warehouse, return freight, service charge and expected net refund, with the currency and any unresolved amounts identified. Also ask whether the item must first be accepted for return before those amounts can be settled.
Then compare the real alternatives. Keeping something unsuitable is not made useful by its original low price. Returning it is not automatically economical when the net amount is still unknown. The next sensible action may be to clarify a charge rather than approve a shipment or pay for a replacement.
Keep two records until both outcomes are settled
Your item record should say whether cancellation or return was accepted, whether the item is still held, and which next action is required. Your money record should say the original amount, agreed deductions, refund amount, currency, destination and current status.
The help guidance describes refunds to the available account balance in relevant cancellation and return situations. A balance credit and a transfer back to the original payment method are different events. If you want the latter, ask which procedure and conditions apply; do not treat an item return update as a completed withdrawal.
Avoid funding a replacement from an expected refund until the amount is actually available in a form you can use. Otherwise, a return meant to reduce the purchase can temporarily create another separate commitment.
Report a delivered-item problem with its packaging intact
The separate English return policy asks for photographs of the goods and packaging and a description when reporting delivery errors, defects or damage. Keep the packaging and associated records while the issue is being assessed.
Describe what arrived and what is wrong without changing the contents to recreate an earlier condition. Include the relevant parcel and Item ID privately. A tracking status can establish which delivery event needs attention; it does not by itself decide a contents or condition claim.
Ask for the accepted next step before sending goods to an address or disposing of them. Do not assume that a warehouse return procedure can simply be reused after international delivery.
FAQ
Does asking for a refund cancel the item immediately?
Not necessarily. Establish which action has been accepted and whether the order or parcel has already progressed.
Does a refund to my balance mean my card has been refunded?
No. Check the destination and status of the money separately from the return status.
Should I order a replacement while the request is pending?
Only if you can treat it as a separate purchase. An unresolved return does not establish an available refund or an accepted exchange.

Track the return request and its financial outcome
Keep the item outcome and money outcome in separate records. A cancellation, return request, balance credit and payment-method result can concern the same purchase without completing at the same moment. Preserve the item reference, selected option, condition and current status.
Before ordering a replacement, check whether you can treat it as a fully separate purchase. Keep relevant packaging and records while a question is open, and ask for the applicable next step rather than assuming that an earlier warehouse action controls an item already delivered.
